Great to see posters that don't post a lot, provid
Post# of 32638
Rory said none of this would be possible without all of your support
I'm sure he was talking about ALL co-owners
I'm always amazed when someone says, I have nothing to add, but when they post, they get a bunch of thumbs up
Some like to try new things
Knowing they will not be great at it
But they do try
Others put up walls, mental blocks and excuses, in fear of failure
Hey honey, I just can't figure out the laundry tumbly thing and the other thing in the kitchen that goes swish, swish, swish
People tend to gravitate to the things they are good at
It's the other things that make life more interesting
Those things we can learn from, help us grow
Yup, there was a time where I couldn't find a dam thing about the companies I invested in
Saw some other guy that was a wiz at it
Figured if he could figure it out, so could I
Sure beats listening to the liars out there
I never asked him how, I just watched and tried
Yup, this was while working 60 hours a week but I figured, if I could figure this out, maybe I wouldn't have to work so hard
Crazy huh?
People work 40-60 hours a week trying to pay the bills and set aside some hard earn money for investment, but don't spend 40-60 minutes a week researching or supporting their investment
I can verify what majorexchange said
Was hopping on a call with a couple of vendors on Tuesday and one set it up with WebEx
A minute before the call they emailed me saying it wasn't working and would reschedule. How about a phone call then?
I met with the other Vendor instead
Jumped on a call on Friday using Microsoft Teams. It took me 5 minutes to get into the call so I was 3 minutes late
For those "worried" about VERB, they don' t have 20M users that suddenly doubled
They also don't have control of the internet designed by Al Gore
Think about the next time something doesn't work, maybe it's your connection, you didn't upgrade your device, running a ton of spyware/crapware on it and you don't even know it, or it's been hacked
SaaS companies usually publish outages, but most of the time, it's the end user
But even the best SaaS companies go down
Yet their users aren't running around saying, "I hope it doesn't go down"
When you buy SaaS software, their are SLAs
Could be 99% uptime
Could be 99.9% uptime
When I used to be in the managed service business I would asked customers what kind of uptime are you looking for
They would say 100%
I would say I can get you 5 nines - 99.999% but the cost goes up exponentially
BTW, that kind of uptime is there for 911 emergency systems where you can't be down
A lot of SaaS companies are 99% or 99.9%
Go calculate how much downtime there is in a year at that rate
Yup, it's accepted, nothing is 100%
Why?
Even the Amazon's and the Microsoft Azures of the world that you get your hosting from can't guarantee that uptime
My wife was telling me a story of her friend that took her 10 year old laptop over to BestBuy because it wasn't working.
10 year old laptop???
They were closing and oh BTW, all sold out of laptops
Surprised anything can work on a 10 year old laptop
Something new I noticed
Now use this an example of something you don't have to be tech savvy or a DD expert to noticed
Just need to keep your eyes open
The VERB links in a video now work even after the video is over
What? Get out!
I remember someone saying they should extend the video 5 seconds or so to give people time to click the links
VERB one up'd that one
Now the links even work AFTER the video is over
At least on my 10 year old laptop
Just kidding
The previous VERB live videos are now up and view-able
I've updated the board info with all the latest VERB video updates and highlighted the VERB live ones in red
