I was at a company back in the late 90's that was considering buying Salesforce
Don't know if it was forsale or a deal could be worked out, but we decided to go down our own path in a similar fashion
The company I was with had over 50 startups under their belt
I know for a fact Salesforce morphed a number of times
It's the only reason why they are worth what they are today
If a startup sticks to a plan, they will fail 99% of the time in my view
You don't know what you don't know when you are charting new territory

It is a smart approach to invest a little, before in invest millions
Not wise in my opinion to charge ahead, without any course adjustment
Too many startups, even with out the corrupt OTC hacking them to bits, at the bottom of the sea
I can tell you for a fact, I've seen Adobe, Microsoft and other large giants pivot
I can also give you a long list of those that didn't
