Who knows why SB says half of the things he does??
He wouldn't be the first CEO to just assume "his" business model would be successful and not ready to adjust when "things don't work out". Our model was simple....try to sign auto makers.....and/or sign dealerships. Assuming early reports were accurate, SB signed several dealerships who were not successful in selling the units they had "committed" to.
It looks like there was minimal demand for our products because of a lack of Communications; Education; and, Marketing Programs. Our products were not well known and NOBODY was spending a dime on any form of advertising. Bad combination!!! Added to this was the fact that our apps are pitched at the very end of the car sale - as an add on - with very little commission for the person we were hoping would sell the units. Hope is never a good plan.
I guess I'm saying that SB was not deliberately lying, but, was slow to admit that our model was not producing what we needed.
I think we can all understand recent development that look good for ONCI. There have been more and more laws passed. Insurance Company requirements have been addressed (I've always thought that a deal with an Ins Co was a win/win/win - with lives saved; decreased liabilities/claims; reduced customer premiums). And, PL #2 looked to be a deal with a huge dealership that was planning an Advertising Program. Positive and verifiable news on any/all of these would be most welcome and SOON!!!
