Immediacy of Anavex 2-73 approval won’t much affect ultimate corporate revenues.
Ok, what if the Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s trials data don’t appear as immediately as desired, and sales approval doesn’t happen until 2020 or later? How would those delays in any way suppress eventual annual revenues? In one or two years, will the potential market for Anavex drugs somehow spontaneously collapse?
For those holding AVXL as a trade play, buy low and sell high, delays in eventual corporate revenues are probably major discouragements. Funds in AVXL could have been used in the nonce to make other trade plays. Dollars in AVXL are dead, are they not?
Others, however, are equity investors, not traders. We hold AVXLs because we seek eventual dividend payments, and many years out, the ownership of positions in Anavex Life Sciences Corp, when annual corporate revenues will, indeed, require nine zeros after the initial integer(s).
Sure, I’d be chuckling wonderfully if either of the two big clinical trials (Parkinson’s in Spain, Alzheimer’s in Australia) successfully concludes in 2019 and regulatory approval for Anavex 2-73 sales would happen immediately. Not likely, however. I’m still holding my moderate AVXL position, targeting 2023 as my make or break year. If the trials all fail, and Anavex cannot sell any drugs by then, I will have lost my rather moderate investment (solely from not-in-my-budget discretionary funds I can afford to lose).
But, even if delayed, when Anavex 2-73 eventually is found on pharmacy shelves across the Western world, I and my family will be well-rewarded. I’ve scrutinized all of the Anavex data. This later outcome is fully anticipated. That outcome is so great, I can wait.
