When there is an information vacuum, anxiety flows in. People translate fear into facts and fabricate a story that means Bad News.
It's silent outside Winterfell. Too silent. Must mean the Wight Walkers are amassing! (Well, in that case, they actually were.)
Gillen is gone. Must mean the company is imploding! Must mean the national distribution deal isn't happening! Must mean the sky is falling!
