Post rating does increase visibility. Some investors here will skip over any posts without thumbs and some posts without many thumbs.
How do I know?
Look at the views of a post with a lot of thumb vs. one with none
Why do they skip over posts other than the obvious?
Because they may only check in once a day or week. Easy to pick out the higher rated posts if you only have 10 minutes.
You will also get potentially new investors or traders checking out the board. They may look at the "what's hot" section of iHang and see VERB popup or a post here popup towards the top. Lot of options for looking at the top rated.
I can tell you other boards use thumbs but this board has one of the strongest use of them. I think it's because there are more people here that have a longer vested interest vs. someone in and out in an hour, day or week.
Note: You need to be a registered user to be able to use thumbs and it only works in a browser. You also need to register to follow a board.
If everyone followed this board that was an investor, I think some would be surprised how many investors are here.
