MS-13 Gang Member Arrested by Tucson Sector Border Patrol

TUCSON, Ariz. – Ajo Station Border Patrol agents apprehended a Mara Salvatrucha, MS-13, gang member after he illegally re-entered the country Wednesday.
Alonso Aleman, a 38-year-old Honduran national was arrested by agents patrolling near Lukeville. During processing agents discovered Aleman had numerous removals from the United States, an admitted gang affiliation, and was traveling with a large caravan from Central America through Mexico.
Aleman will remain in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations involving illegal re-entry of previously removed alien.
All persons apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.
