"The concept is solid, the execution and players a

I would definitely like to hear your opinions and beliefs on that in more detail, especially as to why you believe that.
The concept certainly is solid--turning free plastic into crude oil worth WTI or into salable diesel is an excellent concept--right up there with pulling free gold out of seawater.
PTOI's process also works--if heated, plastic really does melt, often irreversibly depending on type and conditions, into a liquid. The temperature to melt plastic is high enough to where the plastic would burn, but if the oxygen is removed then burning is not an issue. The liquid is just as flammable as the solid plastic and the liquid can be considered "fuel"...just like the solid plastic can be considered "fuel." The melted plastic liquid can even be burned to run steam plants...again, just like the solid plastic could.
Unfortunately sorted plastic already has a price tag and a valuable use to recyclers. PTOI talks up the process...but is really tight-lipped about describing the cost of the plastic feedstock vs, the value of the melted plastic.
So the concept is sound, the execution is adequate and the players can sing and dance well...but there's no evidence that PTOI can melt plastic in a more economical fashion than anyone else can.
