Black Caucus Fed Up With Democrats
Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA), the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, on Wednesday, finally called out Democrats for being hypocrites. n the party that touts diversity and equality, Richmond called it an “insulting” that Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC), an African-American male, is the only top Democrat who has an announced challenger for his leadership position in the Democratic Party.
“Out of the three leadership positions, only the African-American male has opposition within our party," Richmond stated in an interview with CNN.
Richmond was quick to point out that no one is running to oppose (D-Ca) Nancy Pelosi for House Majority Leader, a controversial position she has occupied in the past. If Pelosi regains her Speakership role, it will be more of the same for a Democrat-run House of Representatives, that has many Democrats feeling queasy.
“So I think this talks about who we are as a Democratic Party," said Richmond. “We’re good enough to vote, we’re good enough to get elected, but we’re not good enough to lead. That’s a real issue.”
