I disagreed with his sell recommendation last summer also,even though he was "clearing deadwood stocks" from the portfolio besides IPIX.
Many people who follow Cox (and other writers) are the very same ones who participate in the trashing of companies.They use writers to help spot companies worth going after.
Like news reporters,he/they don't always have "ALL" the available info like today,I would have thought he would have mentioned possible deal in the works and the scope of the potential deal with IBD included besides OM.
So "Good article",volume/SP goes up and then scum shorts/traders step in and muck it all up again.It doesn't matter how "great" the writer is.Manipulators will not be far away.
