Biden Flubs Big Opening in Florida, Thinks He’s in City Halfway Across the State
He is “the biggest name to come through the area since late July,” the Tampa Bay Times reported, and according to a recent CNN/SSRS poll, he is the top Democratic choice for president in 2020.
The political luminary in question? Former Vice President Joe Biden.
However, when he was at the University of South Florida in Tampa this week, the 75-year-old didn’t know where he was.
Biden wrongly identified the city as “Miami” and then, failing to recall “Tampa,” quickly covered with “Florida.”
"Great to be here with Uaall"
He was there for a rally for U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, the Times reported. But his big opportunity to wow the crowd passed him by with his fumble of something as simple as the city’s name.
Biden already has a reputation for gaffes and has shown he doesn’t always know what he is talking about.
