Do we ever allow ourselves to get to Empty? Man was a hunter gatherer. He roamed about 10 to 15 miles daily hunting and foraging. He did not eat daily. He would eat daily as long as the last kill lasted. When it was gone, he went without until he scored another kill.
Agriculture changed all that.
I can say, having been walking 8 -10 miles a day, running out of gas is a daily thing. I had to learn to not eat in the middle of the night.
