The Ministry of Energy has opened an international tender for the first large photovoltaic plant, which will be built in the Akronna area of ​​Vlora. According to the project, the solar park will have a minimum installed power of 50 megawatts and a total investment value of 70 million euros.

Through press releases in the international press, the Ministry has called on companies interested in building the facility to submit bids by September 17, when the tender will be held.

According to the project, the Akernia Solar Park will be built by a private company, which will have the right to use it for 30 years. Of these, the government guarantees energy purchasing by OSHEE for 15 years, while for the remainder the private will sell energy to the free market.

The price at which OSHEE will buy energy from the solar park will be determined at auction. Companies that will offer the lowest price get more points. Likewise, the same scheme will apply to capacity. Companies that offer the largest capacity park building earn more points.

Akernia Park is the first solar plant with large production capacity. Most of the permits that have been made so far have been for mostly small plants, up to 2 megawatts.
