cnEV is a reputable source of news in China regarding what's going on with the new energy sector and, for example, the Optimus Prime plan which BAIC is pushing.

The reference in the article to Beiqi, Beiqi is a subsidiary of BAIC, and if memory serves, BAIC is state-owned or sponsored at least in part by the PRC. So the fact that ZJMY is setting up their stations to initially work with a Beiqi model and branching out from there is a rather significant development.

The part I agree with you on is that ZJMY and Jinbo particularly, have not been very public with any of their operations. We've spent countless hours digging through endless articles and government registry listings to figure out how all of these puzzle pieces fit together. So the fact that ZJMY is actually getting legitimate media coverage now and it's not just their social media platforms or the Jinbo propaganda dept (which, propaganda isn't necessarily false and so far as i can tell, thus far nothing has disproved any of what the company HAS said or posted) means this is a turning point for the companies public presence.

We were told by the company president of ZJMY, Han Zhiming (who is in the pictures from the link I posted) that "Things are coming together, tell your friends to keep investing in my swap stations", back at the end of March. So the fact that this is happening now means he wasn't full of shit. This is only the beginning where ZJMY is concerned.

Now, regarding Long Star, the only thing I can guess is that somewhere along the way the plan changes from actually building cars, to just supporting them. Maybe they figured out that the cost to build the cars without a government subsidy made it unprofitable, so they went away from that model. It would be nice if they disclosed that, but perhaps in time that deal will be back on the table. After all, Han Zhiming still owns 10% of Guangxi Long Star, as you can see here:

My assumption is, the deal with Long Star got back burnered because of how difficult it is to get certified by the PRC. You basically have to have all of your factories online, the inventory built, and be ready to meet a set threshold of production before they even LOOK at you. So far, Long Star is almost in position to do that. Maybe when they get there, that plan will be revisited and implemented. The relationship with ZJMY is still in play though.
