An Iraq War veteran saved a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper who was in danger of being shot by locking a suspect in a chokehold.
Darren Phillips, who currently works as a truck driver, said on "Fox & Friends" that he pulled his rig onto the side of the road after seeing the suspect and the trooper involved in an altercation.
Phillip said the trooper was on his back by the time he got out of his vehicle with the man on top of him.
"As I get closer, the trooper sees me coming and says, 'He's going for my gun,'" he said.
Phillips said his training from the Marine Corps and Utah Army National Guard on chokeholds and combat then kicked in.

"I put my arm around his neck and grabbed it with my other hand and I just stood up," he said.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the suspect, identified as Dustin Roberts, was pulled over for a speeding violation.
It said that a physical altercation then followed after Roberts tried to flee when the trooper "became suspicious of additional criminal activity."
Roberts' vehicle contained about 74 lbs. of marijuana and approximately 1 gram of cocaine, officials later discovered.
Phillips added that Roberts actually praised his efforts as he was being led to the patrol car.
"He just kind of looked at me and said, 'Nice chokehold.'"
