Both Chan and Gerald stand to make a small fortune. Chan basically did a hostile take over to get his 72 million shares when the Company was at its most vulnerable. I don't trust him, but at some point he will need the stock to go up to make his money. He now has more to gain on Amarantus's success than anyone, so I suspect he will do what he can to help.
I am guessing we hear about a the private placement in Elto soon. If they are unable to put together a partnership of some kind in the near future on one of the other assets to raise cash, they will probably try and get the full $5 million from the pp in Elto. It's the easiest way to go. Then hopefully raise cash later in AMBS once the stock rises.
