As Pershing has been doing, repeatedly, for what
seems like centuries.


Yet it actually occurs at the boundary of this century
and last, . TWO CENTURIES . if you subscribe to
some ancient customs for observing the passage
of time.

I remember when studying Ancient History that some
old culture would record the starting + ending points
of a span of days -- each day point -- as ONE DAY.

So if you began marking time sometime on Monday,
and it was now Wednesday -- and you were asked
"how many days have passed since so'n'so ?", the
answer would be THREE DAYS , Mon+Tues+Weds.

You could have a baby born in November of 2016 ,
who would be THREE YEARS OLD in February of
2018 -- we would find that strange . The THREE
YEARS ARE -- of course -- 2016 & 2017 & 2018 !
