Last week I was watching the day trader group I'm with do a little of their own manipulation on a $10 stock trying to hedge a big hedge fund and their algorithms by flashing orders on both sides of the B/A. Order would be up for less than a second sometimes, not filling. They'd pull it too fast but the MM's react by moving the ask up if they were hitting the bid or down if they were hitting just under the ask (to cover) with small lots (usually just 100 shares). They're big money so they can play around like that. Usually on something that has been taken way up for no good reason (pumped right before an offering usually).
There are plenty of tricks out there, no doubt about it. I'm just wondering how much Iflub is paying a few of their bashers to try and hold back IPIX. Those that have been keeping a log of their posts for Leo and Sullivan will have great thanks once the culprits are identified.
