Yeah, but why would they announce anything before

It would be simply dumb on their part to release huge news with the symbol attached. The news of the funding/new content is what will sell shares.
When new investors see the negative symbol they will pass. Any company with common sense would wait for it to be removed. I wouldn't be surprised if we aren't also waiting on a stock ticker name change. They haven't mentioned a spin off, but I wouldn't be surprised. What else takes 5 months? I think it's more than just getting the symbol removed.
My guess of the chain of the events. Who knows when the first step will start....
Removal of symbol
Funding/Insider stock purchases
Reduction of shares
Release of 3.0 with news of new content.
Advertisement campaign
News of new titles each week to continue the climb in PPS.
Time is money and no investor waits almost a year to make a move.
We also wouldn't have waited a year to find additional funding.
It's either they've had the funding the entire time and they didn't want the people suing them to know, the funding isn't there, or the company has been building things behind the scenes to put everything in motion at the same time. Maybe the investor is paying money "bit by bit" like building a new house instead of giving a lump sum. They might have been remastering tons of films for the past couple of years to release with 3.0. If I remember correctly they get 3 months of exclusivity for any film they remaster. We've only seen a couple of these. Makes me think they have been stock piling them up.
I've said this before if my company was screwed over I would put everything in place at once. Then I would drop the mic. I'm praying this is the plan.
Have the 2018 ROKU's/Apple TV's been released? I would think they would want 3.0 default installed on these. When do they release?
