"I believe in MANF," said Dr. Rubinfeld, "I have reviewed a great number of technologies in my 45 year career in the biopharmaceutical field, and I believe that MANF could be one of the biggest successes that I have ever seen. The fundamental scientific premise of reducing protein misfolding is basic, yet very profound. The data, while early, demonstrates very clearly at the cellular level and in animals that MANF reduces apoptosis, improves cellular function, and restores behavioural deficits in a number of disease models, including Parkinson's, Stroke, Myocardial Infarction and Traumatic Brain Injury. These are all indications with very large markets and clear unmet medical need. I believe that if we are able to further de-risk MANF with positive toxicology studies and early clinical data, the Company's new orphan drug strategy could get MANF to market rather expeditiously. MANF has the commercial potential to become a blockbuster drug."
This was 4 years ago. Dr. Joe knew it. Dr. JC knew it. They've been around the block a few times. Dr. Joe was also passionate about ESS and he was right about that. He never said it would get to market in two months. He knows it takes years, but there seems to be literally a LOT of institutions doing research on MANF. Good for patients that suffer from some of these incurable conditions but also good for AMBS that doesn't have to fund hundreds of millions that goes into research.
Guess what. With all this research, no one has said MANF is a dead end. No one. Just the opposite. Not only does it show promise in one indication, but in dozens. Seems crazy that one thing can potentially be the solution to so many problems. But if you think about it, the way the human body is wired maybe it's only one thing that gets out of kilter that can cause so many issues.
I believe MANF is worth hundreds of millions and much more. I could be wrong but I have faith in Dr. Joe & John
