Agreed that it isn't great timing. I stand by a lo

This is all my personal opinion but I think our crowd of white nights bravely trying to protect our money for us over on the 'other' forum are full of it. If they are such experts in how to run a company and tackle this type of project, why aren't they doing projects of their own... and why spend so much time (months and months in some cases) barfing up the same drivel every single day. I see some people posting a list of any company that Hanks name was attached to, and saying they are all scams and that he is a lifelong crook as if they just laid down a straight flush, but they wont give any specifics about those companies because they don't know them. They have no clue. I scoured internet archives of old Maple websites, translated spanish language newspapers, read old investor forums for the London Stock Exchange, etc.. for weeks back in March and I can tell you that I couldn't find the info they claim to know. They are so transparent its comical.
What I do know is that Hanks and other members of Maple sold out of a big stake in midstream infrastructure in TX in 1992 to jump into what they saw as an opportunity in Peru. They navigated that, dealt with politics, guerilla fighters, logistical nightmares, etc.. and managed to bring together a group of companies and financiers to build a 200+ million dollar Aguaytía natural gas project. That's all verifiable. The guys took risks and went into territory that others weren't and they pulled it off. Think any of those bashers have that kind of resume?
Simple fact of the matter is this. Some (not all) of the same people who successfully completed 2 multi-million dollar energy projects in the mid 90's are part of this Pecos project. Hanks' MO in my view is to build projects and sell his remaining interests (hence the reasons for the shells, they are nice tidy transferable packages) and move the money back into Maple. True that some of the Maple companies have folded, welcome to the business world. I see no reason yet to think I am getting shafted, I do realize that my wallet is not Hanks concern and protect it accordingly. Hanks has stuck to his plan as far as I can see and I am willing to let it ride.
Full disclosure: I have made very respectable profit from MMEX, held a core, and have accumulated under a penny 2 times now. So I have covered my butt, rule number one.
If you hadn't read this back in march its an interesting read about the old Peru Project
