by your (and at one time my logic) , you could say that white blood cells are bad because you will have more of them attacking an infection or a virus. the white blood cells are irrefutably good when there's enough of them in the right place doing the right thing at the right time.
that's a super simplified and over generalized argument that doesn't just apply to diabetes/manf mechansms
