Grasshopper, here is how it works when two big boys square off with each other.

The patent laws allow the damaged company (DECN in this case) to reach back 6 years. They then sum the net profits of the offender (in this case J&J Lifescan). In this case, J&J netted about $1.9 billion during that period. Then depending upon the depth of the infringement (in this case really, really bad), the damaged company will be awarded between 10% (I have never seen it lower except in cases of patent trolls) and 25% of that amount. The only problem is that J&J Lifescan's net profits have been going down since 2012, and with the "reach-back" only 6 years, the high end of the damage is no longer $700 million but still plenty big. As I have said, I look for a settlement, unless KB needs cash real bad, to be about $75 million. But then again dung-heaps like AC143 won't see this settlement either, unless he is CEO of the company, in which case he will know the figure but would be in contempt of court if he blabbed it. Settlements of this nature are ALWAYS confidential. But that's why I say a stock flip really should become CEO of DECN. That person would learn something about business, and also learn to resent all of the other stock flips. Then in about 6 months, after the CEO/stock flip is unceremoniously dumped, he could write a book and set all of the arrogant know it nothing stock flips straight.

By the way AC143 thank you for your kind PMs. Calling me names and referring to me by my Christian name is a real mature act, befitting a public company CEO. therealAC or as he used to be known actioncaster is just an arrogant piece of chit. You are truly a bad guy.
