The Entrust countersuit was more than a paper tiger. There is always the hope that the one that is countersued will be bled white with their IP being tied up in court & by the cost of litigation. That hope evaporated when the 8-K came out that someone, with deep pockets, bellied up to the bar and plunked down $1.5 million for IP defense funding. With a war chest of that magnitude to now contend with Entrust could see the countersuit could turn into a costly mistake. Their BOD wisely decided to cut their potential losses by withdrawing it and being the first to settle in hopes of getting a good deal IMHO.
