Mobile games developer and publisher Tapinator, Inc. (OTCQB: TAPM) this morning announced that its Rapid-Launch Games division collaborated with TapGames and the TapSim Game Studio on the recent launch of Scary Clown: Halloween Night. Per the news release, this “bone chilling, free-to-play mobile game” represents Tapinator’s third clown-focused game, joining the likes of Killer Clown Simulator 2017 and Creepy Clown Attack in the company’s growing portfolio. This genre has experienced particularly strong performance in recent weeks following the theatrical release of horror film It, which is an adaptation of Stephen King’s famous novel centered on a shapeshifting demonic entity of evil most commonly seen in the form of a clown named Pennywise. To date, It has grossed in excess of $634 million and, unadjusted for inflation, is the highest-grossing R-rated horror film of all time.
