they can utilize every trick at their disposal .. it's one reason why curating trades
(documentation) can present a problem for them .. because when folks can see
how their respective time stamps are handled .. it gets very very telling ..
i had 2 bids today .. 1 of which was limit day @ 72c (i relo/d it from a gtc @ 70c
within 30 minutes of market open) ..
this is how filled ..

i was actually surprised i got the partial on bid b4 the (as i call it) controlled take up
that said .. this is what i see (besides the split fill) .. an almost even split of 1600 x 2 + *signal* amount
(in this case 100 x 2) .. which makes me suspect collusion between those MMs'
reporting to Finra for Oct 2017 .. in the PRIMARY/SECONDARY positions
volume @ 10AM (approx)
and volume @ approx 12:43 ..

They filled only 1000, and that was at .714 -- underneath my bid, and under the ask.
THEN, they did not fill the other 1500 but instead filled people below and above -- including that last 6k at .73
WTF? I guess they thought they could fill me at the low price and it would be the last trade, and then those others came in. So they gave up and didn't even fill me at .73
