Just got home to begin really looking at this. I confess I am blown away too. The first series of slides were ones I had all seen before. I was lulled for a bit into thinking it was a repeat of the ASM four months ago...
But then I began to see the heavy lean to a future we as shareholders could only dream of... applications in every imaginable arena. Handheld consumer electronics like smart phones, medical (so many uses here it boggles the mind), defense, auto, city planning, government ... and oh yes data.
Everyone is going to want to own this company.
Everyone.
The future is license, license, partner, partner, partner ...
And hold out for as long as possible until a giant makes an offer that is simply obscene by todays standards to think about.
Oh yeah... a stake can be bought in the company on the ground floor today valued at 105 million today. That is what is really obscene. As X has said, it will be like Gore-tex for technology.
If we truly can have applications (through partnerships of course) across those industries, there is no telling what it will be worth.
The conclusion on slide 54:
"Photonics will be integrated - just like IC's 50 years ago and become the engine for new designs ... absolutely ... it will be the next generation IC.
We are living in a historic time and looking at a historic opportunity. I believe that today more than ever.
