Effnet licenses its header compression technology to ND SatCom

Luleå, 2017-09-27 -- Effnet AB, a subsidiary of Effnetplattformen AB and the premier provider of header compression software for wireless and fixed networks, today announced that it has licensed its header compression technology to ND SatCom who is a leading global supplier of satellite-based broadband VSAT modems, as well as broadcast, government and defense communication network and ground station solutions.

More and more networks are getting interconnected and interdependent to serve the end user wherever he or she may be, e.g. a cellular network typically uses optical fibre network for its core connectivity and microwave network or even satellite network to reach remote places or users. This is leading to complex network designs which are creating challenges to use the bandwidth efficiently and deliver services with high quality of experience. As the traffic travels through many different networks to reach its end user, more and more overhead in the form of protocol chains are added at each stage depending on type and requirements of each network. Effnet's header compression solutions are adding a great value in its customer's products to compress this overhead in a highly efficient manner and thus address this challenge.

"We are pleased to add ND SatCom as a customer. Our long experience in development and standardization of header compression, expertise in developing highly efficient software as well as working with a large customer base has played a major role in developing solutions for high bandwidth links carrying traffic with multiple layers of IP headers and protocol headers that no other header compression schemes support." says Aniruddha Kulkarni, Managing Director of Effnet AB. "This agreement is another step in building a portfolio of contracts with recurring revenue streams for Effnet" he concludes.
