Orlando Telephone Company Announces Plans to Fill

ORLANDO, Fla., July 30, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- More than 2,400 merger and acquisition transactions have taken place within the telecommunications industry over the last two years according to a recent report from the Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances. With an estimated 330 on record so far this year, the numbers are set to fall in line with record-breaking forecasts for the months to come.
“While some market consolidation can be good for business, history has shown us mega mergers resulting in monopolies usually result in higher prices and terrible customer service,” says Elizabeth Allen of VoiceOnyx.
“We’ve noticed a definitive, upward trend in annoying mergers over the years,” said Allen, “and they’re negatively affecting customers across Florida.” Recently, the impact has hit the Orlando and Tampa Bay markets with widespread outages resulting in lost business for local companies and monopolies driving up the cost of service.
“At VoiceOnyx, we provide alternatives for Florida businesses, giving them a number of solutions designed to meet their telecommunications needs and exceed their expectations,” continues Allen. While most telecommunication monopolies leverage their size by increasing prices, consolidating their workforce, and removing value-added services, VoiceOnyx has taken the opposite approach. VoiceOnyx has never increased its prices on any customer, has expanded its staff, and has added a Yellow Pages replacement called VoiceOnyx Presence .
According to the latest Temkin Trust Ratings report, the three least trusted companies in America are all telecommunication monopolies. VoiceOnyx does not have a monopoly and since 2006 has never locked a customer into a term contract. “We constantly remind ourselves that our customers have options and they are free to leave anytime they please. Customer satisfaction is key to retention and we always keep our eye on the ball,” says Edward Warren.
VoiceOnyx Presence, launched in 2016, is exclusive to VoiceOnyx customers and is designed to aid area businesses in building their online presence across social media sites as well as local business directories and industry-specific hubs. “I can recall a time when the telephone company would list its business customers in the phone book. These days everything is online and mobile, and we decided that we would reinvent the lost Yellow Pages and provide our customers with a service that boosts their SEO, builds online reputation, and most importantly helps them get found,” says Edward Warren.
“Because monopolies reduce competition and drastically detract from the number of options available to businesses, our goal is to foster Florida’s economy by providing a wide range of services our businesses just can’t get through the growing monopolies,” says Allen. “At the same time, we’re giving them the opportunity to invest in the local economy without sacrificing quality, selection or trust. We’re proud to be one of the few not following the herd, and we intend to stay faithful to our customers.”
