Hopefully you accidentally left a word out in this statement you opened your post with: "I understand how naked short selling works. It's short selling with borrowing the shares first."
The MM sold shares short because he did not have them nor did his client.. I also stated in my post that the shorts control the share price which is exactly what they did in the case you are questioning.
I also asked you whether you thought IPIX was trading based on demand and supply to which you chose not to respond.
I wanted to help you understand naked shorting but either I am not a very good teacher or you and I don't communicate well. With that in mind and with the fact that with my upcoming surgery my time is both precious and limited it might be a good idea should you have questions on naked shorting you ask another poster or throw your question out for general discussion. There are several posters here who I know to be well educated on the topic and I'm sure they will be willing to help. BTW I am still seeking someone to volunteer to post the FINRA short numbers during my upcoming absence on IHUB so if you or anyone else here is up to it and able to post there please let me know. I know several who no doubt would be willing are banned.
