About 10 years back, The Dainty Darling Dove and I stopped off at a rather large antique store, now closed, in Santee SC. While walking toward the back of the Store I heard some quacking and thought it was a recording of some kind. However, on looking around I noticed some webbed feet under a chair and as the feet moved out from under the chair I noticed that they were connected to a mallard drake in diapers. The duck's name was Pogie and the owner of the store had found Pogie as a lost ducking and had adopted him. Pogie was completely free and could have gone back to the wild at any time but made the free choice of staying with his human Mom.
I guess Pogie paid for his feed by being a watch Duck and body guard. At one time during our visit Pogie attacked my leg. You know without a shadow of any doubt that if you're attacked by a duck in diapers you just aren't the fine physical specimen you once were. LOL
