It does occur, and it does occur with this stock too. It's used as a manipulative tool as well as the obvious means to enable profit from both upward and downward price movement. It's not the only force at work here, however. Patience is required here. Only those with a healthy supply of it will still be holding a large stack when it pops.
However, the pps will only find support at just so high a P/E or P/B valuation. It's coming, but getting that ratio too high too soon would most likely just result in many investors jumping in way to high as they chased the hype, becoming victims of panic selling during a harsh pullback. This gradual growth at such a pivotal point in this companies history will cause much less of that to happen and should allow for solid support on the way up.
