It's going to be a really long time for solar to be less expensive than fossil if it takes 24 million people to do the work of 187,000. These are "feel good" jobs - not jobs based on any sort of sound economic policy. For all we know, 374,000 contrived solar jobs cost the economy more than 374,000 economically viable jobs. In the last 10 years, failed solar companies have cost us >$2.2B in loan guarantees and who know how much more in other subsidies, tax breaks, and private investment. If invested in something viable, how many jobs would that be worth today?
The fact of the matter is that almost all of those 374,000 solar jobs today are contrived. I think it's much more likely that when we get to a point where solar + storage are less expensive per joule produced the jobs per unit power produced won't be a whole lot different than they are for fossil today, and they may even be less.
