Total sales of the restaurants in the Kotipizza chain, part of Kotipizza Group Oyj, grew by 21.3 percent in March compared to previous year. Same-store sales, based on sales figures from 242 restaurants, rose by 12.5 percent.

This year, the sales in March amounted to 8.54 million euros compared with the 7.04 million euros last year.

March 2017 boasted the second-best monthly sales in Kotipizza's history. The current record for monthly sales was set in July 2016 at 8.64 million euros. Last month, however, one record was broken as Kotipizza Levi reached the all-time highest monthly sales at an individual restaurant with 140 000 euros.

The chain's brick-and-mortar restaurants increased their sales by 23.4 percent and shop-in-shop locations by 11.7 percent. Online store sales grew by 58.6 percent to 704 000 euros. Figures for online sales are mainly based on the sales reported by 68 restaurants offering home delivery and count towards the sales of brick-and-mortar restaurants.

Since the beginning of the financial year (1 February to 31 March), the cumulative chain sales have increased by 19.5 percent compared to last year, amounting to 15.9 million euros.
