Ocean Rig Announces Receipt of Nasdaq Delisting Notice, Application for Hearing and Appeal

GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS--(Marketwired - Mar 30, 2017) -  Ocean Rig UDW Inc. ( NASDAQ : ORIG ) (the "Company" or "Ocean Rig"), a global provider of offshore deepwater drilling services, today announced that it has been notified by the Staff of The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC ("Nasdaq") that, because the Company filed for protection under Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on March 27, 2017, and in accordance with Listing Rules 5101, 5110(b) and IM-5101-1, Nasdaq intends to delist the Company's common stock from the Nasdaq Stock Market by filing a delisting application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Further, the notice states that unless the Company requests an appeal of this determination, trading of the Company's common stock will be suspended at the opening of business on April 6, 2017.

The Company has requested a hearing before the Nasdaq Hearings Panel (the "Panel") in order to appeal the delisting determination. The hearing request is expected to stay the suspension of the Company's listing pending issuance of the Panel's decision following the hearing.
