The choice of spelling by hyepower was so clearly satirical, and not a little sarcastic, that it begs the question. How could a well edgicated man like yourself miss it?
And I'm surprised that an edgicated man like yourself couldn't see that I was having some fun with his satire.

Now be sure to take that 'baby bayer' before you go nighty nighty.
I do, along with a big dose of Atorvastatin.
Although I do take Atorvastatin at night I'll have you know that I take a real He Man dose of aspirin every morning. For whatever reason, baby aspirin is bad for gout and tendonitis but the adult dose won't cause a flare up.

Betsy's appointment in no way supports the idea of a meritocracy where a good education and achievement qualify people for their responsibilities.
I can remember playing in a bridge tournament with a favorite partner back in the 80's and our game was a horror movie at best. On the last few hands the poor frustrated soul across from me said, "Well Partner, they can't hurt us now." I think our educational system is in such a bad shape that there is no way Betsy can hurt us now and whatever she does just might help if only by accident. This stuff about kids not knowing where France is on the map, alas, it's true.

I have my doubts that anyone in the Dept. of Edgucation has even heard the word meritocracy.
In 1996 I was standing in line waiting to vote in the Nov. election. I struck up a conversation with a woman standing in front of me who happened to be a teacher. Just to be flopping my gums and keeping the conversation going, it's boring standing in line, I mentioned that I had worked on a political campaign to get a guy named Larry Bigham elected to Congress from the 5th District of SC, Bigham Vs.Spratt. She immediately told me that she wouldn't vote for anyone that would dismantle the D of Ed. She was about my age so I said/asked her, "We both came along when there was no D of Ed. and I bet both of us learned to read and do it well, if you're like me you're no math genius but I bet either one of us could come up with the square root of 36 if given a calculator and a couple of days, and I bet both of us popped out of the shoot knowing where France is on a map. And we did that without a D of Ed. I'm wondering, just what is the D of Ed doing and doing so well that you can't do without and can you tell me how the 32 billion* a year that the D of Ed is getting is helping you in your classroom? Well, she couldn't come up with anything and just stared.
* I'm sure it's much more now.
