Mike Huckabee says he's betting on the U.S.-Mexico border wall getting built quicker and for less money than the government projects.
The former Arkansas governor reacted on "Outnumbered" today to a new report that the wall would cost as much as $21.6 billion and take more than three years.
The Reuters report cited an internal report by the Department of Homeland Security. Trump estimated during the campaign that the wall would cost $12 billion and he has repeatedly vowed that Mexico would pay for it.
Huckabee said he doubts the accuracy of the reported DHS estimate, arguing that government "always overestimates because they're gonna slow-walk everything."
"I would put my money on Donald Trump getting that wall built for a whole lot less than the government says it's gonna cost and doing it much quicker," said Huckabee.
He added that he believes the construction will start "quickly" because it was one of Trump's central campaign promises.
