Pihlajalinna acquires Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo Oy
Pihlajalinna Oyj's subsidiary Pihlajalinna Terveys Oy has arranged to purchase the entire share capital of Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo Oy from its present owners. The purchase comes into effect on 2 January 2017. The company will become part of the Dextra chain, and after the merger, its management, practitioners and employees will continue in Dextra's employ.
Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo provides a wide variety of private clinic and hospital services. Its three branches are Ite Lasaretti Kuopio, Lääkärikeskus Ite Leppävirta, and Lääkärikeskus Ite Suonenjoki. Pihlajalinna is acquiring Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo to strengthen its position in private clinic services and to enhance its services in Kuopio area.
Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo has, under the name Lääkärikeskus Ite, worked in close cooperation with Itä-Suomen Lääkärikeskus Oy. In February 2016 Pihlajalinna purchased Itä-Suomen Lääkärikeskus Oy's two private clinics in Joensuu, and private clinics in Nurmes and Outokumpu.
Urho Väätäinen will remain Itä-Suomen Lääkäritalo's managing director.
