Liberal commentator Keith Olbermann declared that President-elect Donald Trump is being installed as a "puppet" of Russian President Vladimir Putin
In a YouTube video entitled "Is There a Russian Coup Underway in America?," Olbermann said America is "no longer a free people" after what he views a "bloodless coup" by Russia.
He called for a special prosecutor to investigate Russian meddling into the election and what Trump and the Republican Party allegedly knew prior to the Nov. 8 election.
"We are at war with Russia, or perhaps more correctly we have lost a war with Russia without a battle," Olbermann says in the video's opening. "We are no longer a sovereign nation. We are no longer a democracy. We are no longer a free people. We are the victims of a bloodless coup."
Olbermann said anyone indifferent to "these elemental, existential facts" surrounding Russia's potential hacking are "traitors to this country."
He went on to say that President Barack Obama should declassify and release all relevant intelligence materials related to this case in a last-ditch effort to prevent Trump from assuming office.
"Permitting Donald Trump to assume the office of president reduces the chance that we will have any future elections. ... January 20 will not be an inauguration but an end to the United States as an independent country," he said.
