Have a
few Union friend teachers here in Michigan that are pissed...direct assault on teachers unions, tenure, pay, pension plan.
Here is the rub though...
Vouchers will cause private and charter schools to be more competitive. Primarily at 1st in the inner cities and some rural area's.
Question is...
Roman Catholic Schools and Christian schools will have the most to gain. However will they let the Federal Government in to receive the voucher payment? My fear is they will get the payment without any regulating standards or over site. This would be wrong as there are something they do very well and there are somethings they are very badly..
One thing they are very bad at is teaching marginal students and special needs children.
Though I do believe the gravy ride is over. 61-70k per year and 80% of pay plus benefits after 30... all you have to do is toe the line for 3 years to get tenure....
For a job that has been turned into baby sitting rather than teaching? They do need a attitude adjustment...
