TYTN "CEO Mailbag" Update..
Dec 11 2012
Dear Shareholders,
We are currently undergoing a complete overhaul of the Tytan facility in Kalama, Wa. The main building is very long. We used to have the Service bays in the south end of the building, Parts in the middle and our Retail showroom was on the north end. People have remarked very favorably about the size of our current indoor showroom. Traditionally, most dealers do not have many Implements inside. By the end of the week, the building will have been reconfigured and remodeled inside to be one, very big showroom. Our Service department will be moving to another building on the southern end of the property, with some new enhancements as well. This improvement allows us to store more inventory inside under cover from harsh weather and provide better viewing opportunities for our customers. We also plan to install large picture windows on the I-5 freeway side of the show room. When the weather gets warm again, the long side of the building ( facing I-5, that has been resided with all new metal in an off white color ) , will be painted with Farm related scenes, showing our products.
You will see a copy of the new web site before the week is out. It has 110 pages and many links on each page. One key feature of this new site is that each page will be picked up by the Search engines as a "home page" which will greatly strengthen the Internet pulling power. Once the site is back under our control, there will still be a lot of work to be completed, however the format will be much easier to work with and use.
There has been discussion of having a conference call with stockholders. This has been suggested by several stockholders and I like the idea. We were planning to have dealers visit in January or February to see new products and programs. But, I am concerned that with winter being winter and the costs of air fares, that it would not be ideal for dealers to come at that time. That does NOT mean I am trying to stop any Stockholder who wants to come and visit. You are always welcome with advance notice. However, I do want to try and have as many persons as possible participating in the discussions. So, I think, a "conference call" will better serve more Shareholders. We will schedule an actual Shareholder meeting when it's easier for people to make it to Kalama.
Incidentally, if you have key tractor dealers in your area that we should contact; NOW is the time to forward us any suggestions. Traditionally, we look for people who sell implements, have mechanics and will benefit from our price points on the Tractors. " Location and experience are key". We do have a listing with 1500 dealers, but these listings get outdated quickly. So keep your eyes open and any input will be greatly appreciated.
Although we have been in a very poor economy the last 3-4 years and many companies have folded their tents, it would be easy to draw your horns in and lower your goals. Tytan sees this time as a period where many competitors have dropped off the map completely. Most importers who might have been seen as competitors to Tytan, have stopped importing and seeking good local avenues for products. We feel Tytan is at the right place at the right time. It is not going to be as fast a growth as Rhino had, since money is tight, but it can be a very good growth for the times. That's what we want !
Below is a chart that we created, representing how we see the Market potential for Tytan . We have various hurdles to overcome. Not all things have come about in the time frame, we hoped they would. They never do. From my experience, good things do not happen fast. For example, the EPA engines on the Big Boy tractors have been delayed in their final testing approvals. It is out of our control. It will happen, but we cannot control the timing. The other side of that coin, is that many other things are happening according to our plans.
Thank you for your "support". That is the glue that helps us move forward.
Mark
