You have an 'RCC centric' view of history. That focus obscures the over all for you, never allows for other causes for other reasons.
You are on this subject the proverbial hammer for whom the whole world is an RCC nail.
As for majority support of the candidates? A majority of Republicans did not support Trump in the primaries, so he's no more representative of the GOP than you claim Hillary is.
But if you don't think he represents GOP 'interests'; massive tax cuts....that help him the most....unfunded spending, belligerent foreign policy, and climate change denial, you are mistaken.
The general election majority is the only one that counts now.
YOUR 'list' is a string of out of context statements that you righties need to cling to in order to create your alternate reality, and your unreasoning rage.
But at least a third of Trump supporters ARE deplorable knuckle scraping troglodytes, racists, science illiterates and god botherers who ARE politically irredeemable to the Dem Party.
In the same sense that hard core Dems are politically irredeemable to the GOP.
I guess that Hillary counted on a higher level of literacy and intellectual honesty from her oppositions' supporters.
