as you know is supported by gas taxes both State and Federal Where the problem lies is in most States is, the Funds go into the general funds. Where they go from there...in many case states barrow from Peter to pay Paul, leaving our infrastructure go.
Lets take Michigan. The fix to there short fall is a 15 cent increase in state gas tax by 2017. Which will pump 1.2 Billion into infrastructure per year. It cost 1.2 Million per mile on average to build a 4 lane highway. Michigan has 46,000 miles of highway miles. That is 55 Billion dollars or divided by 1.2 Billion a 45 year works project.
Now consider 50 states that is 2.7 Trillion dollars. I believe Trump said 3-4 Trillion to rebuild infrastructure.
That money is there provided you makes States spend those funds on Infrastructure.
No reason for bad infrastructure...NONE. That alone would create 20 million jobs over 30-45 years...
