They are subsidized ... but new potential customers will not get those old rates.
It's a technology that can not pay for itself. It's based on tax credits..etc.. that will not last forever. I love solar........but it is not viable for based load electricity. I even looked into getting solar...but even with a tax credit it's very expensive and I still need to provide storage(so I can use it if the power goes out) and there the price soars!!!!
