Saturday on Fox & Friends Weekend, Clayton Morris asked former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani how the recent terror attacks in St. Cloud, Minn., Ocean County, N.J. and New York City have affected how Republican Donald Trump prepares for Monday’s first presidential debate.
“There’s no doubt, on that issue, that he wins overwhelmingly,” Giuliani said.
“[Hillary Clinton] is basically the architect of the problem we have today— she and Barack Obama. There would not be an ISIS but for the fact that we pulled out of Iraq after essentially [we] snatched defeat from the jaws of victory,” he said.
“General [David] Petraeus had been successful in the surge, particularly in that eastern part of Iraq where ISIS emerged. Foolishly and recklessly, Obama and Clinton withdrew all our troops. Where did they think the Sunni [Muslim] fighters were going to go?”
Giuliani clarified that this is what Trump meant when he called Obama, and by extension, Clinton the ‘founder’ of ISIS.
“When Donald Trump… says she’s going to get the MVP award that's, of course, sarcastic. But what it points out is her policies and his policies made ISIS possible.”
“Look, I have known Islamic extremist terrorism really well since 1975. The weaker you are, the more they take advantage of you. That's why we have had so many bombings in the last year. “
