Recent shipments to China include Spire's workhorse SPI-SUN SIMULATOR(TM) 4600SLP, Spire's enhanced accuracy SPI-SUN SIMULATOR(TM) 5600SLP, and Spire's advanced SPI-SUN SIMULATOR(TM) 5600SLP Blue with spectrally matched content from 300 nm to 400 nm wavelengths. All of this equipment was provided to Tier 1 manufacturers. The Line, located outside of Hanoi, will allow for both research activities as well as production of multi or mono crystalline silicon modules. The procurement and installation was coordinated with AIC, a large global trading company, which is also responsible for the infrastructure of the facility. The Class A solar simulator, a Spi-Sun Simulator(TM) 6013i SLP, will have a test area of 6 meters by 1.3 meters, allowing the manufacturer to accurately characterize the performance of their large-area thin film modules. The design will also include an automation system that will allow them to conveniently connect and transfer their long modules into the test area, where a dark I-V and full light I-V curve are measured. The Spi-Sun Simulator 6013i SLP technology and design are based on Spire's proven solar simulator products, which are widely used globally in test labs and manufacturing facilities.
