Police officer, others shot outside Michigan courthouse: reports
Several people, including a police officer, were shot outside the Berrien County courthouse in St. Joseph in southwest Michigan on Monday, according to media reports.
The police officer was shot in the arm and a finger, CBS affiliate WSBT television said, citing Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey.
One or two civilian victims were also shot, but their conditions are unknown, WSBT reported, citing the sheriff. All of the people who were shot were transported to hospital, the television station reported on its website.
Michigan State Police and the Berrien County Sheriff's Department, reached by telephone, confirmed there had been a shooting, but declined to give any details. No one answered the phone at the City of St. Joseph Public Safety Department.
