They’re at it again. Sarah Palin was encouraged by the Brexit vote to call for the US to divorce the UN. But in Texas, they aim for something bigger.

Never mind that the United States Constitution forbids it: Inspired by Brexit, the Texas Nationalist Movement wants to #Texit.

Just as Donald Trump failed to realize Scotland did not vote to leave the EU, Daniel Miller, president of the TNM, doesn’t seem to realize that not only do most Texans not want to leave the Union, but they couldn’t if they wanted to.

Miller irrelevantly lamented to news.com.au,

http://www.politicususa.com/2016/06/24/texas-...-much.html

“The vast majority of the laws, rules and regulations that affect the people of Texas are created by the political class or unelected bureaucrats in Washington.”

Here is Miller explaining the “parallels” between Brexit and Texit:
Honestly, given how Texas is governed, it’s not surprising that the uneducated and poorly informed would think it’s the Federal Government and not their own Republican Party running their state down.

Foolishness and hope alike spring eternal apparently, as this tweet shows: http://www.politicususa.com/2016/06/24/texas-...-much.html

Because, again, no it’s not your choice. You tried before and you lost, and you can’t try it again. Miller of course, says this is a myth:

“This is a myth. Texas does not need permission from the federal government to conduct a referendum and exit the union. The United States Constitution is silent on the matter which, through the 10th Amendment, reserves that power to the people of Texas.”

This isn’t going to make Miller feel any better about “unelected bureaucrats” but the Supreme Court says, “No.” In Texas v White (1869), the court ruled, “The obligations of the State, as a member of the Union, and of every citizen of the State, as a citizen of the United States, remained perfect and unimpaired.”

In plain English, Texas never left the Union, even when it claimed it did, and it cannot now leave the Union, even if it claims to do so.

Oh dear.

One individual, proud of his failure to recycle (“and there’s nothing you can do about it,” he brags), offered an unsurprising comment to the whole affair when he tweeted, “If Trump fails #Texit seems to be our best remedy.” So the best remedy for sanity is insanity.

Okay, GOP, we get that.

And that’s just about all that needs to be said about #Texit.
