A perfect example is HK they got hit hard by the oil prices and the stock started to dip, so instead of doing the right thing to avoid delistment from NYSE they did an RS, look at it now, a company avg 500 million per quarter at .50 completely destroyed SH confidence. Granted they had a few other issues as well but their biggest downfall was doing that RS
