Premara Financial, Inc. (OTC-QB: PARA), holding company for Carolina Premier Bank, said it has successfully completed its private placement of the company's common stock, with a total of 1,214,285 shares of the stock sold at a purchase price of USD7.00 per share for aggregate gross proceeds of USD8,499,995 before expenses. The company said the net proceeds of this raise will be used to retire USD6.2 million of its preferred stock held by the US Treasury under the Small Business Lending Fund (SBLF) and to support additional balance sheet growth. Pending approval from the US Treasury, Premara plans to retire all outstanding preferred stock within the next few weeks. Premara Financial, Inc. was founded in August 2011 as a North Carolina corporation and bank holding company for Carolina Premier Bank, which was founded in August 2007.
